Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF)
Fasthosts’ Data Center works in cooperation with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF). The energy purchased for the facility is enough clean energy to power at least 300 US homes for one year.
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
Fasthosts’ Kansas Data Center purchases RECs(Renewable Energy Certificates) to offset 100% of the energy usage. The majority of the RECs will be sourced from the Bowersock Mills and Power Company’s hydroelectric facility in Lawrence, Kansas. This hydroelectric facility is certified low impact by the Low Impact Hydro Institute (LIHI).
